Awakenings is a unique organization dedicated to serving the homeless and disadvantaged youth of Clark County.

We support individuals and other charitable agencies in the Las Vegas community by fulfilling needs that often go beyond the basic necessities. Awakenings also helps with the needs of individuals not met by other charitable groups and gives them the ability to access essential resources. We seek to create a sense of normalcy for those in need and to reduce the effects of trauma that the individual is experiencing.

By providing crucial items such as back to school supplies, clean clothing, food and counseling to prom dresses/tuxedos and yearbooks, Awakenings strives to provide a sense of normalcy to these resilient youths’ lives. Awakenings works to ensure that each child may experience the love and joy of knowing someone cares about their needs, wishes and future to reduce juvenile crime as much as possible.

Over 6,000 students have been identified as homeless in the Clark County School District (CCSD):

  • 1,500 high school students
  • 1,200 middle school students
  • 3,300 elementary school students

We work closely with the Title I Homeless Outreach Program for Education (HOPE) within CCSD.
